Rose Hathaway was convicted as a murderer…the murderer of the Moroi queen. But she didn’t do it. Although all the evidence goes against her, Rose did not kill the queen. The clock on Rose’s life is running out. She has to solve more than one problem while trying to clear her name. On the run, Rose and Dimitri run into past enemies while they make new ones. Lives are saved, and unknown connections are discovered. In the big finale to Richelle Mead’s Vampire Academy series, you start to question: “When you spend your whole life saving others, who will save you?”
I personally cannot believe this series is over. No, I don’t think Richelle Mead should write another book. If she wrote another book, it would be too much. I am pretty content with how Last Sacrifice ended. I think what happens next to Rose, Dimitri and Lissa should be left to our imagination. But I am oh so glad she is writing a spin-off series. I’m not ready to let go of Vampire Academy yet.
If you loved the previous Vampire Academy books and you are ready for pager-turning suspense and surprise, read Last Sacrifice right away!

The four girls, Aria, Spencer, Emily and Hanna, are back once again. And just when they thought they had everything back to normal, it all changes for the worse once again. They all thought life would be good after Ian Thomas was put in jail for murder and they finally found out who A really was. But was Mona really A? Did Ian really kill Ali?
As they all struggle to find the right answers, more problems arise. Hanna will do anything to be queen of Rosewood Day. Emily has a new…boyfriend. Spencer is just finding out a bunch of family secrets. And Aria has a liking for her mom’s taste in men.
And in the end, they all realize everything is not as it seems.

You all know Kristina’s story. How she took a ride with the monster, openly welcoming drugs into her life to tear everything apart. This time, the book is written in the point of view of her three oldest children: Hunter, Autumn and Summer. Hunter, her first child and oldest son, has never known his father and despises his mother for what she did. He lives with Kristina’s parents, who he calls “Mom and Dad”. Hunter himself has a few problems of his own too. He has trouble staying true to his girlfriend, Nikki.
Autumn, Kristina’s first daughter, lives with her father Trey’s sister, Cora and Trey’s father. She has a weird case of OCD and frequent panic attacks. She barely knows her own parents. And Summer, Kristina’s final daughter, has been sent between different foster homes her whole life. She doesn’t really like her father and barely knows her own mother. She doesn’t even know her other siblings exist.
In the end, Hunter, Autumn and Summer realize what connects them throughout their lives will be Kristina’s decisions to accept the monster. When they finally come together, they will find the courage to break the cycle.
Overall, I loved this whole series. But this book has to be my favorite. I love how Ellen Hopkins shows how drugs and alcohol addictions not only affect the person who is addicted, but their children, family and everyone who loves them. I feel like the lesson learned through this book is that the cycle goes on forever, unless you find the courage to stop it. I loved this book so much and I’m sad to see the series end.
Quentin Jacobsen has been in love with his mysterious, beautiful and adventurous neighbor, Margo Roth Spiegelman for as long as he can remember. And when Margo appears at his bedroom window one night, as she did so, so long ago, he just can’t say no. Margo takes Q on a journey throughout their town in Florida. Margo finally gets revenge on her cheating boyfriend and lying best friend. They both end the night with smiles – Q enjoyed just being with Margo and she actually said she’d miss hanging out with him. The next morning, Margo is gone. No one has any idea where she is. Will Margo ever reveal where she is? Or will Q just have to keep tracking her down through these paper towns?
A few of my friends convinced me to read Paper Towns, and I was reluctant, because I didn’t like Green’s book, Looking for Alaska. But, I actually really, really liked Paper Towns. This book is filled with personality, humor and mystery. It’s real. Basically, if you like John Green, you will definitely like this book!
I have been waiting three years for this movie, even though it is only half of the whole. But let me tell you, it was definitely worth the wait.
My friends and I all went to the midnight showing of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 1.
We were ready for all the fight scenes and sad, teary-eyed moments, and believe me, they were all there. Tears actually did come to my eyes at some moments, while some other times I was smiling and laughing along with all of the characters.
The one thing I really, really appreciated about this movie was that it didn’t stray away from the book. There were actually some direct quotes and dialogue word-for-word from the book in the movie. I was really, really happy about that.
To all of my Potterheads out there, if you have not seen this movie yet, or are planning on seeing it, I suggest you do it right away! HP7 Part 1 is filled with tons of action and even some light-hearted, funny moments.
I am so glad I got to have the experience of seeing this movie phenomenon at midnight and I can’t wait until July 15th, 2011!
On November 3rd, 2010 I had the amazing privilege to go to the Wizarding World of Harry Potter in Orlando, Florida.
I felt like I had stepped into one of J.K. Rowling’s books. With Hogwarts castle off in the distance, Hogsmeade winds its way toward the school with cobble-stoned and store-lined streets. Stores like Honeyduke’s, Zonko’s, Ollivander’s and The Three Broomsticks. And even more. Everything is just as you would imagine it while reading the books and what was depicted in the movies.
The Hogwarts castle itself was absolutely gorgeous. It was perfect. I can’t even put into words how amazing and breathtaking it was. I could probably go on for hours about it.
I didn’t get the chance to go on the two roller coasters (although they did look really cool), but I did go on the ride inside the castle: Harry Potter and the Forbidden Journey. This ride made you feel like you were flying along with Ron on his broomstick, fighting the Hungarian Horntail with Harry and playing Quidditch with Malfoy. It was so intense; I loved it.
If you ever get the chance to go to the Wizarding World of Harry Potter, you MUST go on the Forbidden Journey ride!
Going to Hogwarts has been my childhood dream since I first cracked open and dove into the magical world of Harry Potter. This was definitely a dream come true.

Sanger Rainsford falls off of his yacht, which he is on for a hunting trip, when he hears gun shots. He skillfully swims to the nearest shore, eerie Ship-Trap Island. Every sailor is afraid of that place. There, Rainsford meets General Zaroff, who is also a professional hunter. The two men talk for a while, mostly about hunting and war, before Zaroff reveals his hunting secret. This secret could change everything. This secret causes Rainsford on a run for his life.
I actually really, really liked this short story. I found is really interesting and original, especially the main controversy. It will definitely be one of my favorites for a long time.
Mme. Loisel is a middle class girl who desperately wishes she was wealthy. She’s got the looks and the charm, but she was born into a family of clerks and married M. Loisel, who was a clerk in the Department of Education. Mme. Loisel believes that she should and deserves to be wealthy. She spends all day dreaming about elegant dances and dinner parties of the rich. One day, M. Loisel brings home an invitation to an extravagant ball being held by his boss. Of course, his wife already has everything planned out; she will buy a new dress and a most likely expensive piece of jewelry to go with it. But when Mme. Loisel loses the necklace she borrowed from her wealthy friend, everything goes wrong and her life is changed forever.
There wasn’t too much I liked about this story, besides the main idea, which I deciphered as to be happy with what you have and also always tell the truth. Mme. Loisel, the main character, was ignorant and selfish, which got quite annoying after a while… Try and read this short story and tell me what you think!
