I know the Pretty Little Liars TV show on ABC Family has been over for a little while, but I just wanted say my opinion on the whole TV show itself.
Personally, it bothers me when TV shows and movies don’t follow the plot of the books. I understand some alterations have to be made because, yes, it is TV and they all want people to keep watching and wanting more. But I don’t think major events in books’ plots need to be changed to make that happen.
That’s basically what’s happened with the Pretty Little Liars show. Barely anything is like it’s supposed to be in the books. They even changed how the main characters, Emily, Spencer, Hanna and Aria, look. It’s ridiculous! I can’t even list how much they changed from the books. This irritates me immensely.
I haven’t finished reading the series yet, but I plan on doing that soon. I’m not sure if I’m going to watch the next season…
So tell me, if you have read and/or watched Pretty Little Liars, what’s your opinion? Leave me a comment.
Okay. So first of all, I didn’t even finish reading this book, so I couldn’t tell you the main plot. I read about half of it and got bored with it. If I book bores me, I stop reading it.
I think the main point to this book is that Alex Van Helsing is somehow related to THE Van Helsing, the vampire hunter. And somehow Alex keeps running into all these vampires and they all try to kill him. I got to the point where two of Alex’s friends were taken by this super-bad vampire called the Icemaker.
I truthfully didn’t really like this book that much. The main plot was alright but it was a little too juvenile for me.
Hey everyone!
Remember when I read Bad Girls Don’t Die by Katie Alender and she commented on my post?
Well Katie now has my review of her book linked to her website!
Check it out right here!
Ethan Wate is tired of living in the small town, Gaitlin, and wants to get out. But when Lena Duchannes moves into town, he completely changes his mind. She is the girl of his dreams – literally. As Ethan and Lena get to know each other more and more, they discover they are connected by an ancient curse on Lena’s family. As they uncover more and more secrets and the true meaning of live, Gaitlin doesn’t feel so small anymore.
When I first read the description of this book on its inside cover, I thought it was going to be a sappy love story I was going to hate. But actually, it was the exact opposite. I love this book. It’s filled with a lot of magic and supernatural stuff – just what I love. And the romance really isn’t the main part of the story. You have to read this book!
Rebecca Brown is being forced to move to New Orleans and leave New York behind. Her dad is going to work in China for most of the year, so she is moving in with her “aunt” and “cousin”, if that’s what they really are. Her Aunt Claudia’s house is right across the street from the Lafayette Cemetery. There, she meets Lisette who hangs around the Bowman family grave. Lisette isn’t your average girl – she’s a ghost. And in the end, Rebecca finds out that she might be a part of a very important part of history – a curse – that has been around for hundreds of years, and could change everything.
In the beginning, I thought this book was pretty boring. It took me a while to get into it. But after it got to the main plot and got good, I realized how great this book was! This book is a must read!
**If you haven’t read previous books, don’t read!**
Hanna is in the hospital at the brink of death, and A caused it. Spencer is getting a lot of attention for her award-winning essay that she didn’t even write. Emily is being shipped off to Iowa to live with her cousins because she failed becoming “ex-gay”. And Aria feels like her life is being controlled by the mysterious A. What happens in this book is totally unbelievable. In the end, you find out who A really is, and who Ali’s killed is believed to be.
AH! I loved this book SO much! Everything was so unexpected! I can’t believe who A really is! Its totally shocking. I can’t wait to read the next book.
Amethyst witnessed her dad’s death, and she believes that she even caused it. Her life is spiraling out of control, and Amethyst thinks that she shouldn’t deserve to live anymore. Her mom and brother, Todd, try so hard to make her realize she should live. Will Amethyst ever realize the truth?
Anita and Demetre have the worst experiences, first a guy with a gun holds Anita hostage and Demetre barely makes it out alive when saving her. Then, someone sneaks into their house in the middle of the night and something unimaginable happens. In the end, they both meet each other again.
I’m really not sure how to explain how I feel about these stories. They were really deep. I mean, I’ve read Ellen Hopkins books and stuff like that, but they weren’t has graphic and blunt as this one. And the paces of these stories are really fast. One second Amethyst wants to kill herself and a few pages later she’s becoming happy with her life. I don’t know… After these two stories, there is one more and a few poems written by Hailey and others. Overall, these stories were alright.
Harry Potter and all of his friends are back in this amazing musical based off of the Harry Potter books. But this time, things are switched around. Lucius Malfoy and all of the Death Eaters are plotting against Harry Potter because he got rid of Lord Voldemort for good. And how are they doing this? Well they’re going back in time of course! I would have never even thought of that idea.
As you go back in time to Harry’s first year at Hogwarts, you meet many different people. The Weasley family, Rita Skeeter, Professor Lupin and Luna Lovegood are included. And on top of the Death Eaters being out for Harry, Sirius Black is on the loose! Also, Umbridge was hired this year; what could be worse than a new crazy teacher coming to work at Hogwarts?
In the end, help comes from someone totally unexpected and everything is better once more. It’s sad to say that it doesn’t look like there is going to be another musical. But there is always the possibility!
When I first started watching this musical, I thought that it wouldn’t be as good as the first one, as it usually is with sequels to movies and such. But I was SO wrong! This musical was as totally awesome as the first! I loved it! This one had new songs and even a few group dances! Also, this musical focused not only on comedy, but all the emotion behind the characters. If you loved A Very Potter Musical, then you will definitely love A Very Potter Sequel!
While I was in Niagara Falls, Canada with my family for our vacation, we took a trip to Toronto to go to the Ontario Science Centre. The Science Centre was holding the Harry Potter Exhibition. I was so excited! The Exhibition consisted of over two hundred props from the Harry Potter movies.
When you first enter, a few lucky witches or wizards get chosen to be sorted by the Sorting Hat (although everyone is put in to Gryffindor) before you pass the Hogwarts Express. Then, you walk in to the actual exhibition. You are first greeted by moving pictures and the Fat Lady from the Prisoner of Azkaban who guards the Gryffindor Common room.
There are rooms and rooms filled with props. In the first room, there was Harry and Ron’s stuff from their Common room. Harry and Ron’s beds, along with their trunks filled with various items: wands, the Marauder’s Map, books and belongings.
Almost every important character’s school robes are in this room: Harry Potter, Ron and Ginny Weasley, Neville Longbottom, Hermione Granger, and even Draco Malfoy.
In the next room, you see things from the classrooms, which are mostly the Defense Against the Dark Arts rooms. Gilderoy Lockhart and the Half-Blood Prince’s books are there. The Boggart Wardrobe from the Prisoner of Azkaban. Hagrid’s Hut featuring Norbert’s egg and Hagrid’s huge chair.
Then, you travel into the next room, which features mostly things about Voldemort. There’s the Sorcerer’s Stone, Riddle’s Diary, Voldemort’s robes from the Goblet of Fire, Death Eaters’ masks and robes. Even Buckbeak, Aragog and some centaurs are in there, too.
Then the final room is the Great Hall. Before you enter, along the outside wall you see the Educational Decrees from the Order of the Phoenix that Umbridge sent out. Inside the Great Hall, you see Yule Ball robes and dresses. Also, there are food and candy like Chocolate Frogs and Bertie Bott’s Every Flavor Beans. Then, right before you leave you see Dumbledore’s robes, along with Dobby and the Triwizard Cup.
There are so much more, and some things I don’t even remember! The Harry Potter Exhibition was great! I would have taken a picture of everything, but we weren’t allowed to take pictures. :[
I had a really great time! The Exhibition travels around a lot check out their website, and they might come to a place near you! http://www.harrypotterexhibition.com/
