The Body Finder by Kimberly Derting
My Rating: 2 stars
Okay. So, I didn’t read this whole book. I got to about 120 pages into the book and completely lost interest. The only thing I kind of liked about the book was the plot. The book was about a girl who had this kind of “sixth sense” of detecting the dead. When she was younger she would find dead animals and she couldn’t rest until she buried them properly. This sense the main character, Violet, refers to as “echoes” also traces back to the killer. Apparently, Violet is going to solve this big mystery of a serial killer who keeps killing young girls. But honestly, the first chapter annoyed me. It was filled with Violets somewhat whiny complaints about how she might have feelings for her best friend, Jay. But she wasn’t sure what those feelings were and what they meant, blah, blah, blah. And whenever Violet saw Jay with other girls she got irrationally jealous. It just got really irritating after a while. I wish this book focused a td bit more on the main plot of Violet’s strange abilities rather than focusing on her obsessive love for her best friend.
