If I Stay by Gayle Forman
My Rating: 5 stars
Just when Mia thinks everything is going somewhat okay, her life ends…literally. In a terrible car accident with her parents and younger brother, Mia thinks she’s okay at first; that she is the only one who survived. But then she sees the paramedics carrying her body away. As she is in a coma in the hospital, the “ghost” form of Mia must decide between two things: whether she wants to go with her deceased family or if she wants to stay.
I have heard so many good things about this book, and what everyone has said about it is correct. This book is so amazing. I absolutely adore the way it was written. The whole book isn’t just of Mia sitting in the hospital, watching what is going on. At least half of the book is flashbacks on random memories that make the story and characters just seem more real. I love the overall idea and plot of If I Stay. I believe there is a sequel and I can’t wait to read it.
