The Silver Kiss by Annette Curtis Klause
My Rating: 5 stars
Zoë’s life is crashing down around her. Her mom is dying of cancer, her only best friend is moving far away, and he dad is never home and barely says anything to her. She’s by herself most of the time, and she has learned to take care of herself.
Simon hates who he is and hates his past. He hates his older brother, who is frozen in time as a young child vampire, who turned him into what he is. He just wants someone, anyone, to love him and to love.
When Simon and Zoë both meet, both of their lives change forever and nothing will be the same. Will their love last? Or will Christopher finally get the best of his fellow vampire brother?
At first, I wasn’t sure if I would like this book. I thought it would be a really pointless vampire romance novel, but it turned out to be exactly the opposite! Annette Curtis Klause is an amazing writer. She intertwined the complicated teenage life with the life of a true vampire; true vampire as in pale skin, burned by sun, afraid of crucifixes and running water. All that good stuff packed into one, with a completely unexpected, heart wrenching ending.
