Looking For Alaska by John Green
My Rating: 1 star
Okay, so, I found this look on the Barns & Noble website while searching for new books to read, and I thought this book sounded good when I read the description. But it wasn’t all I expected it to be. This book is about Miles Halter, a boy who is obsessed with famous last words, who is going to attend Culver Creek boarding school. And while there, he meets the interesting Alaska, the girl who he can’t seem to figure out. Really, I don’t know what the main point to this story was, because I barely even got 100 pages into the book. And, the book was set into two sections, a “before” and “after”. But the one thing is what is it before and after? And why is he looking for Alaska when she is clearly right there, living and breathing, talking to him? I guess I’d have to read more into the book to find out, but really, I don’t think it’s worth it…

Yeah, I guess I did miss a lot from the story. Truthfully, I thought John Green’s writing was alright, but the story itself grab and hold onto my attention.
But maybe, since you said this book was incredible, I might give it another chance sometime soon.

Wow, you’re really missing a LOT from the story. Looking for Alaska is incredible and John’s writing style really carries you throught the plot. The idea of before and after is that you obviously have to reach the after to know what the after is.
