The Giver by Lois Lowry
My Rating: 4 stars
I had to read The Giver in school and usually I don’t like books that I read for school, but I really liked this one. I really liked how Lois Lowry created this futuristic world, where everything seems perfect on the surface. There are no conflicts, unemployment, poverty, inequality or injustice. But there are some things left unsaid. Jonas, the main character, is approaching the Ceremony of Twelve, where he gets his Assignment – the job he will have for the rest of his life. But little does he know that his Assignment is special. As Jonas learns more about his job, he discovers new things about his community and all the secrets it holds.
