Go Ask Alice by Anonymous
My Rating: 4 stars
Warning: Rated PG-13
Go Ask Alice is a really good book. It’s actually based on a diary of a fifteen-year-old drug user. It shows how she feels and acts while using different drugs. The author is anonymous, and names, dates and places have been changed for the people concerned. This story follows an average fifteen year-old, until one day her ‘friends’ add drugs to one of her drinks. It’s all downhill from there. This story is nothing like you would expect and has a surprising ending.

I read this book as part of required reading for a psychology class back in the day and I’m definately considering a reread sometime soon. It might help with my current work with substance abusing teens. Often I lose sight with what it was like to be a teen…but I suppose that happens to everyone as they become adults!
